I personally like the giant playpen. My in laws have a mat but I like the enclosed area bc then I could turn it into a ball pit and do a bunch of other stuff with it. Plus it keeps her safe if the dogs and cats get rowdy and start running around playing.

I would get a playpen, so all they toys they playing with can be in one area, also if u need to pop out the room u know they are safe in one place
