@Charly Thank you for sharing your experience and wonderful you have a healthy baby girl! Did you have any symptoms of pre eclampsia with your first? I’m feeling fine and also feeling her kick a lot which is a good sign. I’m awaiting blood test results to rule out any potential viruses and then the next scan in 2 weeks I’ll know a little more.. the uncertainty is awful!
Hello! I found out a few days ago that baby is measuring less than 3rd percentile (I’m 27 weeks) and am also now being referred to a specialist hospital and will have extra scans / monitoring. They didn’t say much at all to me, but I have my referral apt tomorrow to hopefully find out more. Feel free to message me if you like as I’m equally as anxious! Fingers crossed for both of us 🤞🏼
@Dreia how much did she weigh when she was born? I'm going through the exact same situation now and waiting every 2 weeks for the scans is so hard. I've also been told she can come at any point. I'm almost 25w x
I'm going through the same except she is bellow the 1st centile. Their aim is to get me to 32 weeks but they said she can come at any point. Whatever I'd safest for her x
@Bethan Good luck for your referral today.. the waiting between feels like a lifetime! It’s great you and baby are being looked after too. If you’re happy to share I’d be interested to know what they say? You’re also welcome to message me. My next scan is 26th November and I’ll be 27 weeks. Fingers crossed! 🤞
@Dreia Thank you this is really reassuring! Lila is beautiful 💖 The worry is awful, I can’t sleep because if I don’t feel her kick I panic. She seems to be growing, all measurements are good, but mainly her weight is on the small side, both my partner and I are petite. They have told me the goal is to get to between 37-39 weeks, but might need to come earlier depending on results in the next few scans. Wonderful Lila didn’t need NICU. Wonderful you got to 37 weeks. Why did they decide to do a C-section at that point and not a little later? Around 15 weeks I did a Veragene test for chromosomal abnormalities on top of the NHS trisomies and everything was low risk so I don’t think it’s anything to do with that at this point. This is what they have said on my report about the findings so far… suggestive of fetal growth restriction which is most likely secondary to placental insufficiency. This is a likely cause given the low PAP-A in the first trimester (0.4 MoM).
@Amy Fingers crossed you can get to 32 weeks! Gosh when I thought of pregnancy I never imagined this kind of worry and baby hasn’t even arrived yet.. I guess we have to trust our instinct and bodies in this and we will know if something is not quite right. When is your next appointment?
@Dreia Thank you 🙏🏻 okay that makes sense and it’s hard to know what’s going on. I’ve got a posterior placenta and high. Also good to know the term SGA! Yes all measurements are symmetrical. Okay that’s good to know as it seems I’m on a similar path to you then.. unless results change at the next scan! Thanks @Dreia for sharing, I hope you can mentally heal soon too! 💖
@Christy mainly just swelling and restricted growth, the other stuff with my BP didn't start happening until closer to me having her.
@Christy my next fmu scan is on Wednesday. I'll be 25.2d. I'm hoping she has grown to be almost 500 grams then. X
Thanks so much ladies. Reading these messages makes me feel a lot less on my own with all this! I’ll let you know the outcome of today, but I’m assuming it’s just the more detailed scan. Will keep you posted as and when I know more 💛
Just to update you, my apt was just to be expected and just a detailed scan. Baby still measuring about 2nd percentile, but otherwise looks okay. So will stay in the FMU and have regular growth scans. They said they’ll only get her out early if she isn’t putting on weight or growing 🤷🏼♀️
@Bethan that’s great news that she’s growing and they will only intervene if necessary! Fingers crossed 🤞
@Bethan that's really good news. How much is she weighing and how many weeks? Xx

@Amy she’s only weight 754g at 27+3 so really small!! Do you know how much yours is weighing?
@Bethan my last scan was at 23.2d and she was 368g!! Tiny I have a scan on Wednesday when I'll be 25.2 and just hoping she has made it to 500g x
@Bethan my little girl is 619g at 25 weeks.. I’ll let you know how the next scan goes at 27 weeks. I’m hoping she picks up weight! I know it might not help, but I’ve been trying to eat lots more protein. Anything else vitamin-wise you girls are taking?
@Amy good luck for your scan today!!
@Bethan thank you 💓💓
Thanks girls. She made it to 502g which feels like a milestone for me. So 25w 2 d..502g Plan is to get to 31 weeks aslong as the blood flow keeps going and doesn't reverse. I'm really hoping so. Xx
@Amy this is great news!! Keeping everything crossed for you. Keep us posted xxx
I did have this with My Nov 23 baby, it turned out I had pre eclampsia and that was restricting growth. I ended up with a placental abruption and delivered my beautiful daughter at 34w under GA, she was 3ib 6oz. I'm now pregnant with my 2nd and awaiting my 20 week scan next week to see if they can see any earlier signs of placental function. Obviously baby is always best in tummy but if they need to bring them it'll be for the best for you and them. It sounds like they're really looking after you. Just remember to always go triage if you have any uncertainness and unwellness, even if its 6 times in a week ! :) I almost didn't go with my lg and she was out within 10 minutes of me getting there 🙈
