also try to give the fruit instead of juice!
my boy loves Italian food and often he gets costipation
Prunes Plus if it's really stuck put a suppository up there, give it 20 minutes, it will all come out
Try 6 Pitted Prunes a couple of times a day until she's passing regularly. Works a treat for our bub
Have you tried Gripe water? Used to help my daughter
My daughter ended up severely blocked up, coloxyl did nothing as well as adding extra fibre to diet etc etc. We made a doc application and after an xray to confirm the blockage we were put on kids movicol for 3 weeks, it certainly cleared her out. Different doses for different days so please consult a doc or pharmacist before jumping into this.
Honestly in my opinion if an 18 month old has been constipated for 2 weeks despite everything you said you've tried including double dose coloxyl, I would be going back to the doctor for a scan. Although, she could have just been really dehydrated following gastro (did she have a reduced diet while sick?) Maybe she hasn't produced a lot. When you say constipated, is she passing ANYTHING? Like even a few hard pebbles, or nothing at all? Any other symptoms? (Fever, vomiting, pain, masses in the abdo, when you push gently around the tummy is there an area that is more uncomfortable than others, any abdo distension where the tummy looks bloated or pushed out in a certain place?)...
@May she did have a reduced diet for maybe a week, but has been back to eating normal for a week now. She has been passing a couple of hard pellets for the last 5 days but that’s all.
@Sharon how long was your daughter constipated for before you seen the dr and they did the scan? We went to the doctor after being constipated for 10 days and they just blew us off and said kids get constipated all the time just keep giving her coloxyl and she will poo eventually. Wondering how long they have to be constipated for before they actually take me seriously
Prune juice. My little one is on osmolax which is the same as movicol
@Nyssa did you consult a dr before giving your LO movicol, or just ask the pharmacist for advice?
I would go to the hospital also, this isn't good to have this for so long, poor little baby, Plus prunes, fruit, veggies will help the little bubba🩵
It was close to 2 months when we saw a doc, we'd taken her to urgent care prior to this and was told to use coloxyl. She started having accidents every day multiple times each day because her bowel was trying to empty but only pushing a bit out. We took her to the doc and he acted immediately ordering an xray and then following up with the appointment to start movicol. You can actually get movicol from the shelf at a pharmacy
Incognito I consulted my doctor first and they had done a poo sample and we found out my daughter has pancreatic insufficiency which means her body doesn't absorb the fats which makes you want to go. She is also on a special medication to help her poo. But I am definitely not saying that your child has the same. This is from my own experience

Jump straight to movicol. 1 x junior sachet, or half an adult sachet.
Ok, if your baby is still passing pebble poops they most likely won't do a scan. Keep doing what you're doing, try some of the other suggestions here, warm baths, and see a doctor again but don't let them push you out the door again without a plan. 2 weeks is long enough for an 18 month old.
Has anyone used glycerin suppositories? I’ve tried them along with the coloxyl and bub has passed one large stool, followed by two smaller ones. Is this normal or should she have passed a lot more then this if the suppository has worked properly? For some reason I was expecting a huge amount of poop
Organic pear juice is the best for constipation in adults and kids ❤️
Gold kiwi and Avocado
