18 hours- ended in emergency c section

My contractions when they started to when they became unmanageable at home was about 3 hours. Then they got intense. Personally I would take myself in at every 3-4 minutes. At the point that mine were roughly every 3 minutes and no longer bareable I was told to go in. from arriving at hospital to starting to push was about 3.5 hours for me after 1.5 hours of pushing baby was here.

36 hours - ended in emergency c section

I would take myself in at 3-4 mins apart

44 hours ended in with a c section

I was in early labour for 3 days before they finally checked me to say I was 3cm dilated if I was you ask to go in to get checked cause 3-4 minutes is quite close

Honestly…. I was 3 days. If the pain is becoming unbearable, make sure you request directly to go in and ask for pain relief options. I managed 2 days at home (8/9mins between contractions and first 1.5 days the pain was bearable) but what did me in was the lack of sleep. Begged for epidural just so I could nap! Good luck!

72+ hours , you got this

active labour 21 hours

3.5hrs lol.

trust your body! if you feel like you can’t take it at home, go to the hospital, especially if it’s your first. but stay strong you have got this! your body can do crazy things just trust in what it’s trying to tell you Xx

Ideally you would like your contractions to be coming nice and regularly, all the same intensity and duration, about 3-4 in 10 minutes for a couple of hours before making your way in. This will give you a good chance to have progressed because there’s nothing more heartbreaking than being told that you’re not in labour yet and being sent home. Also as soon as you get admitted in many units the time starts running and it may lead to interventions that are not really needed. Try and relax at home. Keep hydrated, eat light diet, take Paracetamol and have a nice long bath and don’t look at the clock. Labour is a process that will take as long as it will and it will all be worth it xx

From my contractions starting to be painful, around 11 hours. My waters had broken 8 hours prior to painful contractions

I was home from 6:30 am until I went in at 8:30pm and then had him at 00:44am. Honestly trust your gut! If you feel you can’t take it. Tell them you want checking! It’s scarier with first as you don’t know the feeling of “baby is nearly here” until you know😅 with my second pregnancy I knew I could last at home and ended up being 7cm when I went in and had him an hour later x Have you tried getting in the bath? I 100% couldn’t have done both labours without my bath at home then also birthing pool in unit. Keep hydrated and keep eating (I know it’s hard but they don’t lie when they say you’ll need the strength). Good luck♥️♥️♥️ I wish I could’ve held on longer at home with my first now I know as my contractions did slow down once I got to the unit, it’s very common.

I was induced and it lasted 23hrs and 43 minutes all in all. First 12hrs were unmediated but epidural saved my life. Very nearly ended with a trip to theatre but thankfully the emergency obstetrics team were busy and my midwives were amazing and I had her vaginally x
