I need help, we don't know what to do

My son is 2. Thursday he spent the day throwing up and only wanting half a banana and milk. Friday he ate half a banana for breakfast, nothing for lunch, and I had to basically bribe him to eat half a McDonald's small fries at dinner. We bought him a happy meal hoping that it would get him back to eating something after vomiting all day the day before. He had refused all his usual favourites and even his every other day favourites. It's almost lunch time and my husband texted me saying that he refused breakfast again. (He loves his cheerios.) He also refused the leftover McDonald's. He just keeps asking for milk. No fever, playing with toys, etc.

I think he is listening to his body.kids usually do better than adults, eat more intuitively. He is obviously not feeling well and is letting his body recover after being so sick. I dont think McDonald's is a good idea, is all bad fat. It will just upset his stomach more. just make sure he is drinking enough water or milk. He needs to stay hydrate. He will eventually start eating more. I would say best options are apple, steam vegetables, like potato and butternut squad that are not heavy on the stomach. If you have doubts you can always call the doctor but that is always the advice I have got. If he keeps vomiting, you should take him to the doctor.

After a sickness bug it’s hard to go back to what you’d usually eat. Sounds like he’s just eating what he wants. It’ll take a few days for his eating to pick up again. Don’t put any pressure on him, and let him what he wants, when he wants it x

Push pedialyte if he’s wanting to drink milk see if you can slip a meal replacement instead just so he’s taking in calories. Otherwise let it run, if he’s been sick he’s not gonna want regular food stick to bland when he does want to start eating again

If you have a sickness bug and vomiting, do you want to eat? I'm guessing the answer is no, well, it's the same for your toddler. You wanna stick with bland food, as long as he's keeping well hydrated. For now, try not to worry, offer food, but don't force it and try with bland food once he's feeling better

Don’t worry too much, mamas. Just continue giving him liquids (milk, water, pedialyte or pediasure). Maybe make some warm soup for him and see if he’ll eat it? If he’s just asking for milk, I’d give pediasure . Soup in my household seem to solve everyone sickness along with medication. Except for my husband as he’s the big baby and refuse to take medication for the most part . lol.

He's not sick anymore. Hasn't been since Thursday.

Usually ppl.dont always recover after fever, vomit etc. .. try being pregnant and vomiting with fever.. you want food but you find it so aversive... it takes time to get back to wanting food.. taste buds, knowing that you vomited before therefore mind won't want touch it again... A few days of dry food, banana , boil rice salt, baguette , cracker basic square salted... and liquid is enough. Doctor even say ,as long as they aren't halfway asleep all time , lethargic. Just not drinking milk even and vomiting etc..kid moving around. Its fine Ps. Mcdonald is definitely terrible

@Carla agreed. Mcdonald to children...just terrible food....definitely not real potatoes, not real bread..so much additive etc natural fresh bread catches mold not like mcdee will last year in fridges no mold

If he has a stomach bug It’s best to keep the food simple. Apple sauce, toast, etc. Keeping him hydrated is important. Juice, water or popsicles.

@Carla @Christine @Becky @s a r a 🥀 @Ali @Rebecca He is refusing everything. Bread, rice, apple sauce, peaches, grapes, bananas, duckies, steak, chicken, cheerios, noodles, spinach, apples, watermelon, strawberries, broccoli, peas, corn, salmon, bulalo, granola bar, apple juice, water. He won't eat anything. We've tried it all. I didn't ask for opinions on McDonald's. It was an idea to give him something (he only gets when traveling to see family) so he wouldn't be afraid of eating because of the vomiting from a previous day.

@Ellie Poor baby. No need to explain yourself about the McDonald’s. Have you contacted his doctor and/or call the doctors office to get some advices what you can do? Maybe a trip to urgent care/ER to see what’s really going on? Sending you loves, mamas 🫶🏼

@s a r a 🥀 my parents are visiting today, if they can't get him to eat anything (he usually does whatever my daddy asked) then we'll take him
