Not walking, kinda worried

My son is 16 months and still not walking. Should I be worried? We try helping by holding both arms and walks for a bit but then he gets down to crawl. Please any advise

My doctor recommended early interventions at her 15 month appointment but she wasn’t even cruising. Might be worth contacting them to get a 3rd opinion

My son (almost 17 months) is the same. His pediatrician wasn't worried at his 15 month appointment. I'm confident my son will walk when he's ready, but I'm getting frustrated by the number of people who are asking why he doesn't walk yet!

Have you tried using a walker ?

My son walked at 17 months a few steps, it progressed from there more near 18 months

@Gabriela I think it helped my son for sure

My little was the same way I got her a door hanging jumper and with in a week she’d built up the leg strength and started walking

He can walk by holding on to something, but once we try to help him he gets upset and wants to crawl instead.

He's going to be 17 months on the 21st. He's not walking.... But he fast crawls, cruises a lot .... And is building strength by climbing things, it seems like he will get to walking by climbing actually! Walking is an 18ish months milestone

If he's not ready yet, that's totally okay!! He'll get there when he gets there

Walking is about leg muscle strength in upper and lower legs as much as it is stability of overall full body

( I had to do physical therapy years ago when a surgery went wrong with post op complications.... And I ended up on crutches for months.... Then a cane.... And in physical therapy to work through massive favoring of one side of my body )

My son was cruizing for 6½ months and not wanting to walk, to the point of plopping down if I tried to take his hands and guide him. I decided at the beginning of October that I would hold him when out of the house but when home I would only pick him up to hold him while I stood stationary or to give him a hug and sometimes if he wanted me to pick him up I'd get down to his level and hold him in a hug. If he was wanting more of me to walk while I hold him I'd place him back on the ground and walk away while inviting him to come with me by crawling (he whined a few times about the injustice of change😅). A few days he started taking independent steps which with his amount of practice with cruizing the steps were stable and expectedly a little slow, and now he's already a speed walker. I believe 18 months is the average tail end of when the walking milestone is met

Ayden was pushing the push walker upright today!

If he can walk holding onto things he’s well on his way in my opinion I would just keep practicing with him and let him do it on his own lots

How is it going? My son is finally walking now 2 weeks before turning 17 months
