Pregnancy pillow

What does a pregnancy pillow actually do? And when is the best time to get one? I’m a first time mum, 22weeks (due in March) so I have no clue 🤣🙈 xx

It's supposed to help you sleep on your side more comfortably. I got mine when I was a couple of months pregnant, but that's just cause I was having trouble sleeping. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's helped me quite a bit. There are some days when I don't need it though

I suffered with my back and hips and my pregnancy pillow was a life saver. It made sleeping and lying on my side more comfortable

I loved mine, much more comfortable for sleeping on side. Being able to keep my leg in a nice position, and also stopped me from rolling over. I got mine early on, as I wanted to get used to side sleeping as I always slept on my back or front before.

It helps you sleep more comfortably as you get bigger with baby. I had really bad sciatica pain towards the end of my pregnancy and struggled to sleep without pain meds from about 30 weeks. If you get the right one you can use it as a feeding pillow too. My little girl is now 6 months and as still occasionally use the pillow for supported sitting and playing with

Was given a pillow by my SIL at 30 weeks pregnant as it really helped her but I tried and tried to use mine but I hated it. Big and clumbersome and took up the whole bed, found myself wrestling with it more than anything and just ended up using two regular pillows between my legs to relieve my hips a bit. They're not totally necessary but whatever works for you. Hope this helps. No need to spend crazy money on them either you can get cheap ones that do the same job

I really wasn’t sure so I got a cheap one off Amazon and it’s been amazing! Granted the dog steals it more often than not, but it does help me sleep and stay comfy on the sofa. Especially with my current coccyx and round ligament pain! I’d say go for it if you can, comfy and will come in handy after I’m hoping!

I bought one with my first and it took up so much space. With my second I just slept on my side with a pillow between my legs and that worked xx

I wouldn’t be able to sleep without mine! It’s so comfy, I highly suggest. Although my partner might have another opinion as it takes up a lot of room and I never used to before 😆 not being able to lay on my tummy when I sleep was horrid but when I got the pillow it keeps me in a perfect position without laying on my back. And also reliefs a lottttt of pain

The wedge ones are the best wouldn’t bother with the U shape that goes around your whole body.

I got mine in the first trimester. The one I got has a cooling gel in it because I have hot flashes like crazy now that I’m pregnant. It has helped a lot with back and hip pain! Not sure if the pregnancy pillow has anything to do with it but I’m 25 weeks now and my back and hip pain is pretty nonexistent at the moment. If I notice it starting to flare up I just add another pillow on top of the pregnancy pillow to get my leg up higher😅

I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have my U shape pregnancy pillow back when I was heavily pregnant. Even for after birth now that I had emergency section. I started using it very early on to get get used to sleeping on my side since I was the type to sleep on my back a lot which isn’t allowed xx

Just get one and find out the luxe of the pregnancy pillow. She is a queen

I’ve never really used either of mine they’re uncomfortable af

My partner got me a large ‘u’ shaped one in my second trimester. It takes up most of the bed so he hates it but it worked a treat, helped me sleep and kept me on my side well into third trimester when nothing else could help me sleep. I’m also using it again now I’m post op. for sleep, sitting and nursing. Not sure I could cope without it now tbh.

I got mine at 6 weeks. My hips hurt and I couldn't sleep and it was nice to be able to put one leg up on it. It was so comfortable throughout my pregnancy to help me be able to sleep partially on my stomach without squishing the baby, or on my side without my hips hurting.

I hated mine and wish I’d had a better one. Ligaments etc start to soften and loosen when you’re pregnant to allow your body to birth a baby, so the pregnancy pillow should provide extra support like the hips, knees and back

I got mine to stop me rolling on my back.

Thought it would be pointless but my mom got me one off Amazon and holy shit!!!! I loved it, it made it bearable towards the end😭
