Constipation worries

Hi all, my daughter is nearly 9 months old, breastfed and taking 3 meals a day. For the last 3 weeks she’s been suffering with constipation, she will roughly go once every 3/4 days and it doesn’t seem like a lot in her nappy when she does go. She’s visibly straining and getting very upset when she does as it’s clearly hurting. She is taking water, milk and food as normal. I’ve been trying all of the techniques to get her to go, massage, prunes, other p foods, warm bath, nappy free time, increasing her water, bicycle legs, nothing is working! Her sleep is massively impacted as she’s waking up clearly in pain, I’ve now got her sleeping on her front on me, which seems to be the only way she seems semi comfortable. She’s had a prune puree pouch today, that I’d hope would get things budging but nope. Should I be seeing the GP or health visitor? Or letting it ride and see how we go? I’m at a bit of a loss, google seems to just go on about constipation in babies or when they first start solids but we’ve been on solids for 3 months now! Or any other miracle remedies!?!

Dragon fruit! It helped my 9 month old so much

Chia seeds. Soak them in water or sprinkle on yogurt. Have assets work well with my baby

I could have written this, exactly the same for my 8 month old. Also breastfed and eating/drinking well. The last 2 weeks his poos have become very hard and he's shrieking in pain when actively pooing and his belly is very hard most of the time. We are seeing his pediatrician today (for other medical reasons) and I'm going to ask her opinion, so I can let you know what she says if that helps at all 😊

We had the same problem, I now give her some fruit or fruit puree with each meal. I add soaked chia seeds to her breakfast and it seems to have done the trick. Plus a good amount of water with her meals

Water with every snack or meal. Can also try coconut water or make a smoothie with the coconut water. They recommend this for toddlers who are constipated from potty training. Try probiotic drops 1x a day. Rectal stim with a thermometer tip with Vaseline (just insert and remove). Warm baths. Castor oil in the belly button. I'd call the pediatrician if all ideas don't work. Sounds like maybe she needs something to soften or liquify the stools. You said milk so not sure if you're giving regular milk in addition to your breast milk? But regular milk and eating cheese every day could cause constipation too.

I found weetbix with fruit every morning has helped my LO and if that’s not enough for a few days one dose of coloxyl (his reflux meds make him constipated 😔 )
