PPROM at 16 weeks!
My pregnancy started off as a twin pregnancy but I sadly lost Twin A at just 12 weeks when my waters broke. Twin B was growing well at the time but 4 weeks later my waters broke for Twin B too. It was a rollercoaster journey from that point onwards as I had very little to no hope left and all the Drs kept telling me to terminate the pregnancy due to the high risks associated with practically zero fluid around baby at all scans. My baby had restricted growth so there was no hope all around. Around 27 weeks I then developed pre eclampsia and was admitted to hospital and was prepared for an emergency c section but we were able to hold off as my blood pressure had stabilised. At exactly 30 weeks the CTG monitoring was abnormal and I was taken for an emergency c section and my baby girl was born weighing just 738g which was very small for her gestation age too. She spent 8 weeks in hospital and came home on oxygen but has since been discharged from oxygen and has done so well. We haven’t had any urgent hospital visits and she is slowly growing. I just wanted to post this as I know exactly how it feels to go through this journey. Without Little Heartbeats I wouldn’t have had the strength to go through such a traumatic pregnancy. 💗
She is so beautiful, and thank God she is healthy. I don’t know why Dr’s solution is to get an abortion. My Dr. told us one of our twins may have trisomy 18 and we should abort and we said no repeatedly and thank God both of our twins were born healthy.
