Circumcision Care
If any of you have had a boy before and gotten them circumcised, how long do you use the gauze and petroleum jelly? I’m 11 days postpartum and it’s been 9 days since my son was circumcised. Not interested in a debate on opinions about the procedure. Just asking about aftercare.

Gauze and jelly should be used for at least a week. It depends on how it’s healing. But after a week you can just add the petroleum jelly on his diaper directly so it doesn’t stick
I think we used the gauze and petroleum jelly for a little over a week. I just wanted to be safe than sorry. But it heal up really quick it felt like! We changed the gauze every diaper change.
I change the gauze and put lots of vaseline every diaper change, as directed by the doctor.

My son was circumcised the day after he was born, not even 24 hours later, and we were told not to touch the gauze and it would fall on its own, unless he got poop on it. Using the Vaseline on it after every diaper change, I think it fell off on its own about a week after
