Reduced movements

Hey, have had a manic weekend with toddler, non stop on the go. I think baby is tired and needs a rest (like me) I've had movements but reduced for 2 days and no means of anyone having my toddler for me for a few hours to pop to the hospital... What do I do 😂 my hospital don't let them in so she can't come and sit with me. I get one big movement every now and then so I just tell myself cool we can wait for a few more hours. I'm pretty chilled out but it's been a few days and I'm thinking I really need to go in 🫣 Dad is home tonight after working away so I plan to go as soon as he gets back. Our only local family are on holiday also back tonight.. I guess I just have to wait until tonight 🫣

Can toddler not come with?

That’s hard, but you’re gonna get checked tonight so hopefully everything will be okay. 💕 I had reduced movements for a couple of days too but didn’t have the time to get checked, when I did get to go everything was okay, I had the same thing, just felt kicks here and there. ☺️

Go tonight as long as you go. Can’t stress how important it is you go. I had reduced movements with my 3rd and turned out to be a problem and she was delivered at 33 weeks x

I know a few mom's local have said if you call in advance a toddler can go with you but they get staff to sit with the toddler. Call up to check first

I second what Charlotte has said, if you call triage and explain the situation they may actually say that it’s okay for you to come in with the toddler and I doubt they’d want you to wait longer before going on. Hope everything goes okay x

If you're unable to go get checked out until later make sure toddlers occupied with food, play or sleep then I highly recommend drinking something fizzy and eating a chocolate bar laying on the sofa and just wait for those wriggles to chill you out, Im sure youll notice them more relaxing for an hour or two

Thanks everyone, I'm going to go once he's home! Toddler is asleep at the moment, so I'm sat with tea and biscuits watching crap TV 😂 I've had a couple of kicks to the ribs so it's a bit reassuring x

@sarah Hi Sarah! If you don’t mind me asking what was wrong! I’m currently at the hospital now with reduced movement she hasn’t moved at all but her heart rate is ok! I don’t want to leave because I know she hasn’t moved x

@Stephanie Bridge so went in with reduced movements and she kept failing the monitor repeatedly. She eventually passed so they sent me home and told me to come back later the next day. So I did and she kept failing it again and then she passed one so they sent for for daily monitoring at the day unit and my First appointment her heart kept dipping below 100 and she was still failing it. I got admitted as they had to pull the emergency buzzer. Kept on the monitor all night. Where she kept dipping. I had a scan the next day that highlighted problems that wasn’t there in my 28 scan. There was no fluid around her, small weight (she came out at 2lb) and the placenta was over compensating so it was t working quite right x

So little update .... I am currently in the assessment unit The baby is fine but I have high carbon monoxide levels!!! Might explain why we are both a bird sleepy! We had a chimney and log burner inspection 2 weeks ago plus 2 new alarms but neither have picked anything up! Booking a boiler service tomorrow 🫠

So glad everything is okay. ❤️

Make sure your carbon monoxide monitors are in the correct place. As Ex fire you'd be amazed how many people place in the wrong place. The detectors should work then ans are sensitive enough. You can request a home visit with the regional fire service if you don't feel confident.

Glad you’re both ok besides the monoxide levels. Hope you get to the bottom of why they’re high x

@Charlotte we had the blokes who dish out the certificates tell us where to put them. They work fine, it's all very strange midwife on the phone today thinks it may have been car fumes 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've checked them every night with the test button out of paranoia now 🫣 x
