Cmpa

Has anyone had Cmpa diagnosed without having baby vomit/poo blood? Our little one is so uncomfortable and has other signs but doctors won’t consider until there’s blood

What other signs and symptoms are there with your little one? As often doctors treat it like reflux or colic first x

She has been treated for colic since about 3 weeks and then reflux since then. She’s been on gaviscon, Omeprazole at different doses and reflux milk and nothing made a difference. She’s really sicky can sometimes be projectile, she’s uncomfortable during and after feeds and will squirm and cry and draw her legs up, she has lots of mucus in her nappies and they’re quite loose and she gets little eczema patches/red spotty rashes that come and go xx

My girl just has very runny mucusy poo’s, struggles with wind still and often is quite congested. Then recently started vomiting which she didn’t do before. She is also not gaining weight as she should be. No blood or anything like that. My hv did an assessment at 15 weeks and that’s when she decided it is impossible. My girl has a half brother who is still severely allergic to cows milk at 8 so that was also taken into account. Things aren’t any better with the new milk though! Her poo’s are thicker but she’s throwing up more 😔

Mine was, more colic systems mainly but would go on all day on and off not just in the evening. A out of ours Dr tried to tell.me it was normal to have colic during the day but my health visitor said the opposite and pushed for prescribed formula which helped straight away!

Yeah that definitely sounds like CMPA with the mucus in the poo. I would go to a different doctor or see if your health visitor can help. I only got listened to when my baby ended up on children’s ward due to an unrelated illness and the paediatrician finally listened to me. Not every baby has blood in their nappies either so definitely go to another doctor or if they give you the same doctor don’t back down and request a different formula x

They’re so quick to shut us down and don’t seem to want to consider anything but reflux. But it’s awful seeing her so uncomfortable and unhappy. So we will keep pushing. Thank you! Xx

Definitely push as it took 5.5 months for someone to listen to me x

We have a confirmed diagnosis and we’ve never had any blood xx

My son is confirmed CMPA, has been on prescribed formula since about 10 weeks old and he's almost 11 months now. Never had and blood in his poo, they were very explosive and mucusy, he was vomiting after every feed, a severe rash all over that got worse when he was drinking a bottle and general signs of discomfort/pain. Definitely push more! X
