Thank goodness I didn’t get the same midwife! I was really unhappy with the previous one—she was careless and inattentive. There’s a good chance you won’t get the same one, but if you do, I think you can request a different midwife.
@Nora thank you, yes I will request a different one. Just really hoping I don’t have to do that tbh and wondering if it would be less awkward if I ring before my appointment to check it definitely won’t be her 🤦🏼♀️ don’t really want to make a fuss but also don’t want to sit through an hour and half appointment with her. Wish badger app would just show me the name of who it will be.
Yes, I can totally understand you! I was in the exact same situation, I even tried to change health centre too!😄 they couldn’t do it so it was a huge relief when I found out at my first appointment that I got a new midwife! Hope you get a different one too!🙏🏼
I had a different midwife and every appointment for my last pregnancy and have had someone different for my booking appointment this time around
I would ring in advance that way you can put your mind at rest or request a change there and then. On my badger app when I click on my care team it tells me who my midwife is.

Just to say I rang today and I have a different midwife this time round ☺️
I desperately wanted the same midwife, I was gutted when I found out it was someone different, but it turned out that the new one was also someone we’d had contact with for our little boy, and she was lovely, so overall pretty happy 💙
This is my third, my midwife changed mid pregnancy with my first baby and then I had the same one for my second, I have a different one this time x
