She’s had trouble with her tummy since she was born, doesn’t go for a poo every day and when she does she cries in pain/discomfort. Her poo’s have recently become green and runny (we changed her formula so could be the reason). She also has been crying after her bottles, arching her back and struggles with wind/burping! Originally thought it was just colic but wondering if there’s more to it!
Cmpa is really over diagnosed, and I'll be honest doesn't sound like that's her issue. How old is she? Not pooping every day isn't an issue. Struggling to go can be infant dyschezia where they are learning to coordinate the muscles needed to get the poo out. Green and runny also isn't necessarily an issue, my baby has only ever had green poo! But as you say could be the formula change. Crying and arching after feeding sounds like wind mainly. Is she crying for long periods every day?
We have lactose intolerance that runs in the family. Baby had same symptoms. Moved onto lactose free milk and now so much better. HV advised to try the lactose free milk and see if that helps and in the meantime book a GP app. We are back at the GP next week to update them and get the results of the stool test they requested. We use the aptamil Lactose free milk.
@Charley she’s almost 7 weeks - I do agree and think her main problem is that she is very gassy, and perhaps has a bit of silent reflux! Just wanted to see others experiences with CMPA to see any similarities. She used to cry a lot when she was trying to go for a poo, although seems to have got a lot better since changing to a comfort milk!
@Mia we moved her into comfort milk after the HV recommended we try it and she has definitely been a lot happier in herself and less crying so I’m wondering if the reduced lactose has helped her tummy digest the milk better!
