Hi yes me, it’s not the greatest. I’m pretty good with needles (was on insulin in the pregnancy too) but these needles are much bigger! Leaving lots of bruises on my stomach too x

I also did and I am not good with needles my husband is injecting them but the anxiety on the lead up to injecting is worse for me, I didn’t find them that painful apart from a couple so must depend on where they go

Yup. I'm on them for 6 weeks. I've had them before though so I knew what I was in for. I've found certain places hurt more but also run out of places where I've not already stabbed myself. The quicker i stab myselfself, the less I bruised, but that's just me

I don’t find them that bad, as long as I’m not the one administering them! 😬

@Amanda I am like this too. I am not the best with needles and my husband is doing it. I don't find them painful and I don't have any bruises but the build up to it is horrible. First night I was crying and shaking.

What will happen if I reject it :( already in so much pain

Got em for 6 weeks only 3 to go. My partner does it in my leg or belly. Although it’s not a side effect if in my belly for days it’s gives me very upset stomach x

Yeah I have them - no issues with them really. Half way through doing them now and all is ok :)

Get someone else to do them. I cried every time but it's to help you from clotting. 10 days is better than weeks. I did a count down. Xx

Yes but I have to have them for 6 weeks😩 they are soo painful!! My partner does them for me. Only 2 weeks left thank god!

My C-section isn’t until the 28th but this time I have to do them for 6 weeks 😩 Luckily I’m used to them as I broke my leg two years ago and was on them for 4 months! Not pleasant, some times it’s fine, sometimes it stings tf and you end up covered in bruises but 10 days will be over before you know it!

I’ve been on them for 4 weeks, another 2 to go!! My advice would be get someone to do them for you, pinch the area on your belly being injected until the needle comes out, eventually you’ll get the hang of it and it won’t actually hurt

I didn’t take mine… I felt like they were causing me too much pain, not even from the actual jabbing. It never sat right with me that they’re to prevent clotting when that’s what the body is naturally trying to do for the wound. Obviously I’m not a doctor or a health professional but I know my own body and the two nights out of ten that I was supposed to take them for, I was in absolute agony.

Try to inject as low as you can into your belly-fat as possible. I also recommend gently positioning the needle around on the skin before stabbing to find a spot where you can feel the spot less than other areas. I was told doing the injection slowly reduces bruising. Also, try to avoid rubbing after injection, If you must then apply some pressure to the area 💚 (I've been on anticoagulation injections for a year+ and this was my second pregnancy using injections throughout. )

Blood clot can kill you - if they have told you to take them It’s because they tested your blood and it would show signs that it is clotting Not everyone will be prescribed blood thinners I had blood clots and I was injecting for 9monts in pregnancy, you get used to it after a bit I d recommend taking them because clots are silent killers you likely wouldn’t even know you have one

I’ve been taking them the whole pregnancy and on and off for the years I’ve been TTC! I finish up with them 6 weeks PP, so another 2 weeks left. You get used to them! If you’re finding them painful, ice the area beforehand. Inject at a 45 degree angle and go slow and apply pressure afterwards.

Yeah, one week at home since coming from hospital after giving birth so one week of making injections by myself at home. So proud of my self as never done any injection in my life and was scared as well. Now... you just need to understand that you have to make them and needles are small comparing to those for blood tests etc. I need to make them for 6 weeks also. Right after I make an injection my belly is painful but doesn't last long. Good luck

Yeah I got them for 10 days. I'm a type 1 diabetic so no stranger to needles and I HATED it. That being said please please take them, it's for your own safety. If it's too difficult call maternity assessment or tell whoever your midwife or caregiver is to see if there's any help or different medication instead.
