Colostrum

I am attempting to hand express colostrum for my LO but once the milk comes in I plan to stop as I had a terrible experience with my 1st and breastfeeding. I am struggling to get the colostrum. It took me 2 hours to get 0.7ml!! I am shattered. Does anyone know if I can use my pump to help stimulate my breasts for the colostrum? If I can I might even pump for a bit longer. If anyone has had any experience with this I would love your advice!

I've been using an electric pump since 37 weeks to collect colostrum. I get 6/7ml with it in 20 mins. When I was trying to collect with hand expressing I was barely getting anything and felt very uncomfortable with it.

@Kaylee thank you! I’m going to try that then x

I really struggled to get any C out after birth , but the midwives in the hospital were absolute pros at getting it out. I could barely get 0.2ml …. The midwives got 1ml out my boob in like 5-10 mins. If you’re still in hosp deffo ask for their help. If not you could probably go to the hosp and get them to do it
