Does anyone else's son seem to enjoy hitting their head?

My boy is just over a year old, still co-sleeping but we added a extra bed beside ours making our bed wider and this way he has his own bed to roll and flip around, i have placed pillows along the walls but for some reason he seems to enjoy just sitting there against the wall and bumps his head on the wall repeatedly, he never crys infact he smiles while he does it, doesn't leave a bump or anything like that but I feel like I should be concerned??

My son does this too and laughs 🥲 maybe our kids are just crazy 🤣

@Janelle lmao maybe!! I even tried to do it to see what he finds so amusing but my head hurt after like 2 bumps haha

My pediatrician said it might be a soothing technique if they r stressed 😥

My little one does the exact same thing it drives my insane 😂

Does he do it hard or is it like a tap?

Totally normal. Both of my boys have gone through or are currently going through it. They are learning ways to regulate and soothe. It's no different than laying in their crib kicking the rails or slamming their legs down. Soon they will move on to the next odd thing

My son does this too!🥲

@Janelle it's hard enough to make a thud noise but not so hard that it hurts or damages the wall or his head

If my one year old thinks he can get away with it he’ll throw the cushions off the sofa and try to dive headfirst into them. I think it’s just a boy thing

@CS that's a very odd soothing technique when he does it it's almost like it's fun to him like he likes the tiny thud noise lol

I know i was just as worried as you were. And agree odd. But he said it's quite common.

@Liv perfectly said Liv you articulated it way better than me LOL

Mine does this. He hits his head on everything. Sometimes when he is tired but sometimes just to be silly, sometimes because he is impatient and wants to be picked up immediately. His favorite is to slam his face into our mattress. He does this more when he is teething.

Mine and it scares me Everytime

Mine did that constantly till about 13nobths, don’t worry they grow out of it eventually
