Poop struggles

My 13 month old girl really struggles to poop :( to me it seems like she’s scared to poop. She will clench and become stiff as a board. It’s so sad to watch. She will get a poop out every 2-3 days and when she does she screams and cries. I’ve tried the Mommy’s Bliss constipation ease. It helps sometimes. We do juice mixed with her water and a probiotic packet mixed in. The pediatrician offered to start her on a constipation med or try almond milk instead of whole milk. I’m looking for other alternatives that have helped any of you other moms out there. How can I help relax her and reassure her when she’s trying to push? I have had to even do a suppository a few times. Looking for advice, thank you ladies!

Hello! My little struggled with this as well. I found that tummy massages in a right circular motion every diaper change helped. Also when you notice her getting stiff help her by bringing her knees to her chest, this allows it to come out more easily. She may resist you a little at first. Lastly there is an essential oil blend from dottera for babies called tummy tamer and it helps with digestion and has been a life saver! If all else fails you could try dried prunes.

Thank you so much @Megan! I went ahead and ordered the essential oil blend. That looks really good! I appreciate your feedback

Mine only has issues sometimes if he eats alot of meat or something that's going to block him up. That being said when he has an issuse I do have dried plums (he gets 4) I also noticed that bananas help mine and oranges. When he was really little we did tummy massages. He also gets fruit with every meal and not a lot of grains or starches.

Thank you @Kenzie! I’ll try some bananas and tummy massages

This happened with my 13 month old recently because he was dealing with some constipation. I mixed in some apple juice with his water during breakfast for 3 days and also mixed in a pouch of prunes in with apple sauce for snack. It did the trick!

Thank you @Morgan! I’ll give these a try :)
