Napping

My lo is 13 weeks old and still fights naps, she will scream and cry for about 30/40 mins before actually dozing off but it gets so exhausting to have to get her to nap during the day when she is obviously tired, any tips of advice? She has also found her voice and has become very talkative but has learnt to shout when she is by herself or when trying to nap?

How do you put her to sleep for a nap?

My 13 week old also fights naps, gets cranky due to lack of sleep. I started taking her out in the pram for a walk for at least 2 naps during the day and it seems to work for now… I walk for the whole duration of her nap so that she sleeps with all the rocking. The moment I come home and she stays still she wakes up!!

@Gloria I give her a bottle when I notice she is showing signs of tiredness. Or just follow her cues, I rock her or put her in her bouncer and bounce her, but she will only be rocked when I am standing the minute I sit down she starts crying, I try and shush her keep the room dark for her naps and put her noise machine on, I do the same roughly the same times everyday and she just fights them, but it’s always following her cues.

I hear you, putting them down is super hard! I also don’t manage from standing to her in the crib. I manage better if I feed her in bed, she falls asleep and after a while I put her in the bed. I keep a hand on her tummy and rock a bit and one hand on her cheek. My life saver was a sleep carrier from najell which fits on the pram, crib etc I also let her sleep in the carrier a lot which makes me more mobile!! They are just too scared to be alone and I love the extra cuddles. For us, day sleep is very different to night sleep eg no dark Room I heard it is good to warm the mattress a bit so they don’t feel the difference and there are 1000 other tips like laying them on the side first…
