Im due to give birth on Thursday 21st via an elective C section because of breech presentation. Everything I had bought until now was for vaginal delivery in terms of postpartum care. I bought the cooling pads from fridamom and I’m wondering, are they still useful after C-section? Is there anything specifically that I should be taking for C-section postpartum? Also, any mothers who have had the babies recently what is the temperature like in the hospital I bought handheld fan, but it’s snowing now so will I need it? Thank you in advance for anyone who answers my questions and helps me !! ❤️❤️

You probably won’t need the cooling pads no, the only thing you really need specifically for c section is either higher waistband pj trousers or a nighty as you won’t want anything sat on your scar You might need the fan depending on how you feel after, the hospital is warm to keep the babies warm, but i was never hot enough for a fan I’d say Xx

Nah doubt you will need the cooling pads tbh. Get the Frida mum disposable knickers best thing ever! Get the cheap shop brand maternity pads as well, they are very similar to the ones the hospital give you. Comfy stretchy pjs. Make sure you get air to your wound after your dressing has been removed. Didn’t find the heat that bad this time in hosp.

I had the cooling pads and didn't really use them. I loved the peri bottle though. That was so helpful and the Frida mom knickers are a god send. I used the cooling pads as an ice pack over my incision though to help with pain and swelling the next day which helped tbh but yeah lots of high waisted pants or just nighties. As you won't want anything on the belly for the first day or two. You'll need liners though as you'll still bleed after the section

Take some peppermint tea with to help with bloating after the section - it was a big help for me. Make sure you are stocked up at home with paracetamol and ibuprofen beforehand so that you don’t have to get after. I labelled everything in my bag as well as your partner will be helping you out until you are able to get up and about and it’s just easier for them if it’s labelled.

My c-section was on the 13th. Hospital was BOILING I had a ‘pram fan’ which I attached to my bed frame. And loose fitting clothes Due to catheter you’d want a nightie and not PJ’s for the first night at least.

Take the fan anyway. I had my baby 2 weeks ago and at times it was so hot in there we had windows open
