If your baby is under 12 months old and you think they are constipated, you should consult your GP or Maternal and Child Health Nurse see: https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/constipation/
We used coloxyl (prescribed by GP) and infants friend. We have just started to use Qiara infant drops & I wish we’d started using them earlier! Nothing has worked like they have
Hi! Mama and pharmacist here 💁🏻♀️☺️ I have used Coloxyl on my little girl, she was 19 months at the time and experiencing a diet related bout of constipation. It was not prescribed by the GP, but self selected and thankfully, it helped relieve the episode. It took 1-2 days for her stool to soften and regulate. However, in practice it is not recommended for ongoing use in infants. Being that little one is only 3 weeks, I’d definitely speak to a medical professional (GP, paediatrician or maternal&child health nurse) to guide your medicine decisions. Infant positioning and leg stretches can help alleviate constipation in newborns. Best of luck 🩵
Sadly I don’t think you can use it unless 3 months or older. Also a tip you can use is to do a whole lot of bicycle kicks with him/her and to do a clockwise motion with your hand or 3 fingers on their belly firmly but not too roughly to help their intestines push it along a little quicker. My daughter is 5 months old now and she had the similar problem. Xx
A newborn breastfed baby can go up to 2 weeks without pooping before a medical professional steps in. I used infacol for my son when he was little and it helped get some air out to get things moving
How many days has it been?
Babies can not poo for up to 10 days. Do a warm bath, massage etc.
Hey I’ve used infant Coloxyl for my baby when she was 2 months old and suffering from constipation. It takes time though to show results
