How did you get this checked? X
@Sammy so I could see it tbh it was really obvious and his latch was so painful so I called just one number and asked to speak to feeding team she then came over and assessed him did the referral and 3 weeks later the procedure was done x
@Kimberley wow I may enquire. My little boy is 6 weeks old feeds amazingly however has a very shallow latch it’s not painful for me but he does a clicking noise a lot I’m sure he’s tongue tied and it’s making it difficult for him to latch properly. He has a health visitor coming on Monday so I’ll mention it to her then! Xx
@Sammy my boy used to click even on the bottle and also has a high pallet of definitely ask about it then you can make a decision on what to do because you don’t have to have it snipped if it isn’t causing any problems it’s totally up to you x
@Kimberley a huge thankyou I rang just one number and they’ve referred it to the feeding team who’s going to come and assess!
@Kimberley Thank you that’s so helpful, I’ve been so nervous about getting it done for our little girl x
@Sammy oh amazing if you get Linda she is brilliant
@Chloe they will chat to you about the pros and cons and you can decide what to do if it didn’t affect my sons feeding I would have left it but that’s just me
@Chloe the worst bit for us was the not feeding for 2 hours before hand 😂
@Kimberley I’ve messaged you ❤️
Yep they were great! Took expressed milk as requested she gave him a 1ml syringe of it while she assessed they then did the procedure took no time at all then latched him straight away he was perfectly happy no calpol needed! They have to wear mits for 48 hours after to not scratch it. He put his hands in his mouth on the way home they were covered with his sleepsuit mits which had blood on them after that no bleeding and no problems now latches beautifully. He was just over 2 months old (we went in September) 🥰
