We had this with our little boy when he was 4 months and it ended up being a urine infection. Not saying it is that, as I’m sure as with everything it could be multiple things. But could be worth speaking to your GP just to rule it out? We noticed the smell and then a few days later he started getting a temperature so that’s when we spoke to the doctor.
@Sophie hi Sophie thanks for flagging this! I’ve just got of the phone with GP reception to book an appointment. This morning the pee was so strong it masked the smell of her poo. So something must definitely be happening here.
@Kayla hi Kayla, yes I had been thinking it was the extra nutrients and vitamins in the new formula…but now I’m not so sure. I’ve booked a GP appt anyway to rule out UTI
We're nearly 7 months and found that her wee smells a little stronger with teething and weaning happening about the same time
@Ebony hi Ebony..my LO started weaning only this week but smell has been for over a week..I did get prescribed antibiotics at GP however I wasn’t able to obtain a urine sample from my LO to confirm if it’s truly UTI..a friend of mine has also suggested it could be the nappies. I did change to pampers recently and she mentioned pampers use to give a chemical smell when her firstborn use to pee in them…it’s making me wonder if it’s the nappies…I’ll change back to tesco brand and see if there is any difference
We use aldi nappies. The smell start when my little girls teeth started showing (around 4 months). At the moment her wee smells like rusk biscuits. Hopefully it's nothing too bad
I could have written this post myself!
