Getting fussy with food

My son has started rejecting his porridge in the mornings. He used to love it. He now cries when I give it to him. I’ve tried putting small amounts on his tray for him to get messy with (and then eat) as well but he hates it. How long do you try before you offer something else? I obviously want to put zero pressure on him and don’t want him to be hungry but it’s so disheartening, especially when I’ve stewed apples and pears and added loads of nice toppings to go in it 😭

Exact same happened to me an hour ago, I had homemade pear and mango puree mixed it and she wont touch it, usually her favourite. Everything is going on the floor at the moment its killing me

Honestly, it seems to be a stage. My son refused his porridge this morning and kept spitting it out to the point where he made himself vomit it out. Even though I tried to miss some mango puree into it, he still refused. You are not alone mama. Just keep trying and good luck

Exact same thing except it’s usually dinner that he refuses rn 🫠 and most solid foods I offer also go on the floor! It is frustrating, i’m hoping it’s just a phase

So sorry mamas it’s the same stress for you all too. But you’re all offering something else I assume quite quickly after the refusal?

Same here! Since last Thursday she's been rejecting pretty much all foods except scrambled eggs and her rice snacks. Only wants to nurse.

I do to be honest, my baby can be fussy anyway so Im used to offering a safe food or mixing something in so she will eat it, I always offer a few things never just one. So for example this morning was porridge, a small pancake and some fruit slices, she rejected the porridge and fruit but ate some of the pancake

@CeeCee exactly the same as us this morning too! Only the pancake was eaten 😂 what is going on?!
