12 week scan yesterday
I posted a few weeks ago about whether I’d need an internal scan at my 12 week scan as a size 18/20 (UK) gal and had lots of responses reassuring me :) I had my exam yesterday and they managed to do an external scan with no issues! The sonographer didn’t even have to press very hard! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reassured me, and for anyone else having a scan soon, it’s all fine 🥰
Baby was being a bit awkward and kept moving around so she struggled to get loads of good pictures but we got some :)

@Sian Hardy thanks for letting me know, did they have to do an internal scan?
They can’t do an internal scan passed the first trimester my love , baby will be too big to see x
They won’t be able to see all of the baby if they were to do an internal. The image depends on the equipment that particular hospital has. I was referred to a better hospital with better equipment and I saw baby clear as day x.
The further you get on the more difficult it can be to get a good measurement as where baby is now you don’t have a dense fat layer. X

The 12 week scam usually goes well. It’s the 20 week scam that can be difficult. At 12 weeks, baby is quite low down near the groin. At 20 weeks , the uterus is higher up around your belly button. I’m a size 18-20 and the 12 week scan was always good , it was the 20 week scan that was difficult at times x
