I don't get WIC. However, I am such a fan on making my own baby food. I agree, my schedule is often too busy to puree my 8 month old baby girl's food and had Beech Nut organics on hand. I haven't tried Gerber Naturals, so thank you for that 😊. I feel so grateful because my sister literally just flew back to FL on Saturday. she spent about 10 days with me here in CA and for about the last three days she spent pureeing her niecey's food. She's got strawberries, squash, pinto beans, oatmeal, spinach, and she even made chicken. I think she has a few other things in the freezer as well.
That is wonderful!! Im an only child and its times like those I wish I had a sibling lol. I’m going to try to make some of my own over our Christmas break. My mom had a huge garden this year and has some veggies in the freezer she said I could have. Fingers crossed it comes out okay
I know. I'm literally y crying of how my village has xome together to support with my #4 baby, but this fonaeound as a single parent. That's a good idea, though. We have to get it in when we can! And that's awesome your mom has a fresh garden. I'm excited for you and baby to have the "very fresh" items. Happy baby, happy mommy ☺️
i’m in the same boat!! we usually buy the beachnut, i’ve found my baby really likes eating from a pouch so i bought reusable ones from amazon. i wish i could’ve continuing making my sons food but the fresh fruit and veggies are too expensive without wic :((
I think making your own is best but we also get WIC and try to get the organic baby foods. I would love to make my own but our schedules just don’t allow that right now ☹️ but we like the Beech Nut organic baby foods and the Gerber Naturals. These Gerber ones do have a thing on the label that says something like “supported sitter first foods.” I think this is a suggestion as we’re always told baby is ready to start solids when they’re sitting up on their (supported or unsupported). Ours was sort of sitting up but we still fed him some purées and he did fine. We’ve also given our boy tiny tiny bites of scrambled eggs and a very very small amount of peanut butter. Our pediatrician said to introduce the common food allergy foods now and they’ll be less likely to develop those allergies. I was also told by our pediatrician that making your own meat for baby is kind of hard because it’s hard for us to get it to that purée consistency they need. But the baby food meats stink lol
