Not really a parent group but we regularly go out to kiddo focused events (story time at the library kiddo concerts, indoor party places and community centers) and have built some familiarity with other parents that way and would be happy to meet up. I've got an 8 week old and an almost 2 1/2 year old (who is the reason why meeting up at kid focused things is a necessity these days)
