I chose not too, I too have always had low blood pressure and it remained on the low side throughout my pregnancy. I didn’t have a elevated pulse though. My view was that; I’m very healthy, remained healthy and active throughout my pregnancy and I wasn’t keen on taking anything whilst pregnant due to transference. I also felt there is limited evidence in specific areas, especially related to the impact on neurodevelopment, with emerging interest on the effects in this area.
I wasn't ever prescribed it, had no pre-e
First pregnancy got preeclampsia and we both almost died, technically my daughter was dead but they got her back. So when I got pregnant with my twins I started taking it at 12 weeks and made it longer than my first pregnancy and no preeclampsia. My first was a very healthy pregnancy with no signs until it wasn't, literally changed in the span of 2 days.
My first pregnancy (was twins as well) I was not told to take aspirin. My health was good, never a BP issue and very active and no family history of preeclampsia. I ended up with preeclampsia before 20 weeks, it affected the blood flow to babies and I unfortunately lost them (and almost me) at 24 weeks. We were blessed with twins a second time(the run in my family 😅 ) and I was on aspirin from the moment that test turned positive and increased to two pills at 12 weeks. Aspirin does not technically prevent preeclampsia but lessens the severity and sometimes how early you can get it. I did get preeclampsia again, but I didn’t get it till after 30 weeks and it wasn’t as severe towards mine or the babies health. Was in hospital for 10 days before they came. Babes came at 34.5 weeks and are doing amazing! Just turned 1 🥰
Even before I knew I was having twins my OB recommended I take Aspirin as I’d had a MC earlier in the year. It was advised I take it to increase blood flow to the twins and nothing was discussed at the time about reducing Pre -E but that could also have been a consideration.
