What to do with my baby

My son is 6 weeks old and “wake windows” are just something he didn’t get the memo on. He sleeps at night (4hrs then feed, then 3hr and a feed, then about 21/2hrs and a feed) but doesn’t really sleep during the day. He maybe has one nap in the day and we really have to force it, but it usual only lasts between 30mins-1hr. So I’m running out of things to do with him, as they can’t sit in bouncers too long at a time, he hates baby carriers. I’ve been doing tummy time, reading to him, singing to him, sitting him in the bouncer, watching black and white baby videos and lots of walks. But it doesn’t fill much if the day, especially bc he rarely has a nap. My day feels so long bc every second is spent with the baby, either feeding him, changing him or trying to entertain him. I’ve also tried just leaving him in his Moses basket in the hopes he will fall asleep, this very rarely works he usually just screams the house down. Is anyone else’s newborn like this?

Yep! 6 weeks today. He's currently sleeping on my lap, but he has one or two naps a day (nights are hit and miss though, usually 2.5/3h stretches). Yesterday he didn't nap until 15.30! You are making a lot more effort than me though, I just sit here and hope he will fall asleep 😅 No advice from me, I need to actually entertain him a bit more, I feel bad that when he's calm I just leave him there to stare at his toys 🙈🙈 I really want to wait until he's had his jabs before taking him to baby groups, but I can't wait to have a reason to get out and spend some time somewhere else.

My little boy is 12 weeks and he has always and is still like this. I got a sensory activity box for him and try to rotate through the different toys with him

I feel this. My baby is also around 6 weeks and some days the wake windows feel like eternity because he will just not sleep! Sometimes I do all of what you are doing, other times I just sit there and try to will him to sleep. I feel bad leaving him just to lay alone … but sometimes after 2 hours of just sitting I give up and put him in his swing or bassinet and leave him to his happy self! … when I talked to my midwife about the excessively long wake windows she said it’s all good.. ifs he’s happy just let him be.
