Breast feeding /expressing

My little girl is 10 weeks old and I have exclusively breast fed since birth. I have a few plans coming up that I would love to be able to do but she will not take my expressed milk in a bottle! Does anyone have any tips or any bottle recommendations please? Of course I'm more than happy to cancel the plans but would love to be able to go!

Hey! I watched some videos about bottle teats and dummies by mama_nurse_tina on Instagram about shapes that work well alongside breastfeeding and since I'd bought a lansinoh pump, I bought lansinoh bottles with natural wave teat, the slow flow teat. We also pace feed when using a bottle which includes keeping the bottle parallel with the ground (at 90°) and feeding baby either sitting straight up or side lying, giving them regular breaks. It takes us about 20-25 mins to feed 120ml expressed milk. We were giving baby a bottle every day but now less regularly, hoping that in the future I'll be able to leave baby with grandparents. Hope you get bub to take a bottle so you can make your plans! It's important you get to enjoy some you time too ❤️ happy mum, happy baby.

I had the same problem. Was trying to phase in expressed milk bottles to my 12 weeks old LO. He was crying his lungs out and fell asleep without eating. The advice I got is “keep trying” - little by little, a small amount at the beginning; baby will get used to it after a few times; also “try different bottles”, different babies may prefer different bottles, lansinoh was mentioned, though I haven’t tried it yet.

Make sure you have the right flange size if you’re going to pump! It can really hurt if you have the wrong size. Make sure to try pumping way before you go out, your body will have to get used to pumping and using a wall pump will maximise your output of milk x

Baby was refusing mam bottle so now trying lanisoh teat with it
