*clears throat* how do you feel when grown folks label themselves as “the prize”

Example: You’re getting to know a man/women on a romantic level and they lets you know “I’m the prize!”. Not in a sexual manner but as a general statement to let you know if you fall into a relationship with them “count yourself as the lucky one”

Cringe

People who say this seriously are almost always the shittiest partners

grosssss

Nah, I’m not interested in playing games and competitions for “prizes”. If someone thinks you owe them something or “you are the lucky one” for even knowing them and having some attention, bin that loser.

Sounds like a narcissistic behavior to me. I'd run the opposite direction and fast.

If they're serious why say that? Were they hurt in the past where the partner made them feel worthless?

Absolutely not, people who say that are usually the most insecure ones.

I’d personally like someone more humble- 😅 and people that are overly confident in how much of a “prize” they are… just come off more narcissistic. Or maybe just immature. I feel like a mature person would realize their faults and try to see themselves as more equal to their partner. Always room for anyone to improve.

I'm all for self respect and self value, but calling yourself "the prize", is not it... ick

I sent you a text ma’am still waiting for your response

i say this about myself all the time, it turns on my husband/makes him incredibly happy. as women this is a red flag, but apparently all the men i know love and adore incredibly confident women
