Milk protein allergy

Anyone else keep pumping or breast-feeding after their baby was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy? Did you end up stopping or how did it go? Also, if you kept pumping or breast-feeding, what did you do with the stored formula before your dairy free diet?

yes, At around 3 months he was diagnosed. I kept my frozen milk. Most grow out of it so I was able to use my frozen pump when he was older. It’ll last 6 months in freezer or 12 month in chest freezer. It was very difficult to eliminate all dairy protein, especially when eating out, but i kept breastfeeding and tried my best. His mucusy and bloody poops stopped.

Yes I continued breastfeeding until 13 months and am currently doing the milk ladder with him at the moment (so still not completely on dairy). It’s hard and a sacrifice, but one that I saw worth it! It takes a while to get used to it all (label reading and asking when out) but there’s SO many vegan alternatives now that I found it was easier than you think! There’s just milk in way more than you’d expect so take extra time to read ingredients (even when you think there’s no way there’s milk in something!)

Oooo and I used the milk in his baths, he was fine with touching it just not having it! So used in baths to not waste it all!!

I went dairy free. The tainted milk... Eventually I had to toss it 😭 His skin would flare up when I tried giving him a milk bath.
