@Emma Ah thankyou so much I think I might try both from tomorrow and see how she does! What time does your little one wake if she goes down at 8? Out of curiosity - I know each baby is different - currently she’s down by 11 and up at 4 x
I haven't but am in a similar situation at night. I put him in the vassinet in the living room but then end up waking him to go to bed 2 hours later when I think realistically he's ready for his long stretch x
@Kim see my little one still cat naps up till 11 , but I think it’s just because In out front room it’s light , there’s lots of noise and I don’t swaddle her unless it’s bedtime - so it’s not the same conditions as bedtime x
@Lucy it can vary, I think she could go longer but I tend to give her a sleepy feed at 11pm she barely wakes but I’ve just not given that up yet to see how long she would go without it , after the 11pm feed she’ll wake around 3:30/4 for another feed and then she’s normally wide awake at 7am but it can all vary the last couple of nights she was in bed asleep for 7/7:30pm as she was overtired. I’m thinking of dropping that 11pm feed soon and seeing how long she’ll go without it, I’m hoping she’ll stay asleep till 3ish still but that might be asking for too much 🤣
I don’t for naps in the day but I bath and feed my LO around 6:30-7:30 and he goes to sleep in the next to me and I put a monitor on him and spend time with my partner before going to bed. Been doing it since 6.5 weeks old he’s now 8 weeks. He wakes up once in the night x
Just for your information, I was reading about SIDS to decide what to do.... SIDS is highest risk at 2-3 months. There is a theory that some babies just stop breathing when they are so deeply asleep and so they recommend being in the same room for all sleeping as you make noises and breathing out CO2 yourself can help make sure they don't sleep as deeply. Obviously a monitor cannot replicate this and you wouldn't be able to tell your baby is sleeping too deeply. This is a good article that can help inform on the pros and cons https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/room-sharing-with-your-baby-may-help-prevent-sids-but-it-means-everyone-gets-less-sleep-201706062525 Can you tell I'm a scientist 🤣?!
@Marianne oh yes she sleeps in our room with us at night time in her sleep by me crib we just take her upstairs a couple of hours before I head to bed and her naps in the day are only an hour long sometimes shorter as she never naps for long in her crib during the day.
Yes mine is doing the same and going up to bed at 7pm with monitor on too. Xx
Yep I’ve been putting my girl to nap upstairs during the day in her sleep by me crib and at night time she goes to bed at 8pm and I can then spend some time with partner downstairs and the baby monitor is up and running. Been doing that since she was 6 weeks old (shes now 10 weeks)
