Help!! Sudden drop in supply!!

Hi, I usual pump between 34 and 44 ounces per day. I’ve been sick this back week (baby has bronchiolitis) and I’m in the follicular phase in my cycle, where I usually see a very small drop. Usually from 40+ to about 36/38. I have one pump left today and I have only pumped 24 ounces :( yesterday was 32 for the whole day. And day previous was 34. Flange sizes and pump parts have been checked. I’ve added extra pumps in today and yesterday too. Baby is almost 6 months. This is really starting to stress me out which I’m aware will make me pump less! I have a decent freezer stash but I also donate so some of it is for donation and some is stash. I’ve been defrosting some and it has a plain smell to it - kind of like paper? Some of it is slightly soured but not dramatically (not like if you left milk out and it soured) and baby has been drinking it fine. Was considering defrosting enough for a whole day of feeds and just using that day to power pump/extra pump to try to help supply? Any advice appreciated!

40+ is oversupply. 32 is just enough so don't stress yourself

@Keerthivasini my problem is it KEEPS decreasing. I have just done another pump and only got 1 ounce combined within 3 hours. I’m doing another pump in 3 hours time but I’m concerned it’s just drying up.

1. Try eating more protein, oats, hot chocolate, lactation cookies and body armor. 2. Take legendary milk supplement called liquid gold 3. Try stressing less about it (I know easier said than done)

Also power pump a week

I think the smell might mean you have high lipase breastmilk. It’s safe for babies to drink, just smells funny!

When I wasn't feeling good my supply did drop. Since I was an over supplier (about 48 oz a day) like you it didn't bother me too much. I just kept pumping my normal schedule but adding a few minutes after my milk stopped (to mimic my baby telling my body it needs more milk) and making sure I drank extra water and after about 5 days of it slowly going down, started going back up. The main things day to day that will kill your supply is not drinking enough water, not eating enough, and stress. When I was sick I definitely wasn't eating and drinking as much as I usually was my supply dropping made me stress. Once I got back into eating and drinking enough and relaxing it went back up. I know it's hard to relax when it's really stressful, but it really does help your supply being relaxed. Try taking a nice warm relaxing shower (heat will help open the milk ducks as well) and pump right after. I always pump right after a warm shower to the point I start to leak within minutes of getting out of the shower.
