Vasectomy

Hi ladies! Just hoping to get some opinions/personal experiences to help ease my mind. My husband and I are 30 years old. Just had our twins and we have a toddler. We always said 3 kids and we are done. I hate the types of birth control I have had in the past, so my husband quickly and easily volunteered to get a vasectomy. I am like 80% on board...but I worry that 3 or so years from now, we might regret it. We have 3 boys. What if we want to try for a girl? My husband 100% says no more kids. But what if we change our mind? I know its reversible..but I worry. Anyone able to share their personal experiences? How long after your twins did you decide to have more?

Vasectomies are reversible if you change your mind... annnnddddd.. from working in OB I can say that vasectomies reverse themselves a lotttt... like even after years and years and years.. the male body does not like to be incomplete and will fight to reconnect. The amount of vasectomy babies we see is baffling honestly. My step sister actually just had a vasectomy baby, 10 years after her man got snipped. So I'd say it's a great option if you're not 100% sure yet! When I'm 100% sure I'm done I will be getting a hysterectomy cause I'm not gonna continue having periods if I'm not going to have any more babies. 🫶🏻

@Kylee thanks Kylee! At my 6 week post partum appointment I told my OB that our birth control plan was a vasectomy and she cautioned me for it not always being reversible. She said "it breaks her heart when people change their mind down the road and the reversal fails". So I think that is my biggest reason for over thinking...

Yeah that's what's hard about them they either REALLY work and totally sterilize them or they fail down the road or you can reverse and then re-snip in the future, its just tough not knowing which roll of the dice youll get. It's a tough decision! Good luck mama!

Can he not freeze some sperms? Seems like a really forgotten thing thesedays considering how easy it is..? I have twins and a toddler and I am done done. If my hubby said he was done too I'd believe him tbh. Lol I can't see ours kinda changing unless we suddenly develop a super village x

We are 35 and 32 and had twins this year and have a 2 year old (all girls). We are 100% done. Three is a nice number I think! Don’t rush into anything though if you aren’t sure! ❤️

We had twins this year (1 boy/ 1 girl) and have a 2 year old boy We had always only wanted 2 children so before we even found out it was one of each we had decided on a vasectomy. But I’d say wait a little while and see how you feel, I’m not sure I’d want my husband to get one if I wasn’t 100% sure
