I was given the option of an ecv or a cesarean. I went with the cesarean as they told me it was only a 50% chance it would work, and even if it possibly did, it could also cause placental abruption. I chose the cesarean, and luckily, I did cuz I hemorrhaged over 2 liters of blood, I can almost guarantee if I had tried the ecv, I could've died and possibly lost my child.
I chose not to do it and went for the C-section. They say odds are 50/50 but that’s overall odds. Chances are lower with first time pregnancies, so it’s more like 60/40. The risks to baby scared me a lot, but I know many women who feel confident trying it, even if it ends up not being successful. I watched some ECV vlogs on YouTube that helped me get a better idea of peoples experiences which helped.
My baby was breech till 37 and turned then so you still have loads of time. Keep using the exercise ball it will encourage head to come down x
My girl was breach and I also tried all the things to get her to flip naturally but she wouldn’t move. I had a EVC, it didn’t work, my little girl is just too stubborn, she still likes to be all curled up and she’s 12weeks lol. When they were performing it her heart rate dropped and I was rushed to the operating room. After they got me back there her heart rate had gone back to normal so it wasn’t an emergency c-section (thank goodness, it was really scary for a second) but because they knew there was a chance that something like that could happen, they were ready. I was 38 weeks pregnant and If the EVC had worked I was scheduled for induction right after. I had a slight high risk pregnancy so I was getting induced either way. The team that was working on me were all super nice so I was lucky with that aspect. just make sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure it’s something you want to try, like the others said, there’s a limited chance it’ll work but it was worth a try for me
I never got offered an ECV. My son was breeched from about 20 weeks and never moved. Midwife kept saying his head was engaged when it was his bum 🤣 i ended up having a c section in the end although it was an elective one and I'm quite glad as he was breeched and 9.1
I had one and it didn't work. I felt quite fragile afterwards for a few hours but glad i gave it a go.
I was due a consultant appointment to discuss ECV but my waters broke at 36 weeks before I had a chance so I had a c section and am glad it went that way
I had an ECV and it worked 🎉
I had an ECV. Mine didn't work, they couldn't get my son up out of my pelvis, he was stubborn and stuck. I tried everything I could think of, chiropractic adjustments, exercises, propped up my hips at night, and finally the ECV. Nothing worked. Is this your first pregnancy? My OB told me first pregnancies are less likely to turn with ECV due to the body not having stretched out before. She also told me even if it wasn't my first the chances of it working aren't high.
