First C-section

This is my first baby and unfortunately I had to have a CS despite all my efforts and pushing for 3.5 hours. He is now healthy and almost 5 1/2 mo. If I wanted to have another baby my doc said wait 18 mo. Is that wait 18 mo. Andthen try to get Preg or by the time I give birth again. Our plan was to be Preg by the time baby turns 18 months. Thoughts?

I keep getting baby fever cuz I wanna girl so bad

Wait 18 months then get pregnant. I had a C-section with my first and just had my second in October my boys are only 16 months apart, my recovery both times was super quick and I feel great after a month! But it’s always recommended to wait 18 months

This isn’t a reason to have a baby especially because you just had a baby in a traumatic way you need to heal and think about yourself and what your body just went through. The likely hood of you having another boy is higher as you have that dna still lingering. 18months is healing time so after 18months you get get pregnant.

@Marie I agree with your first part of the comment that wanting another baby so soon because you want the opposite gender is not a reason to do it. However the odds of having another boy is not higher because she’s had a boy already. The dna is not still lingering, the sex of the baby is determined by the sperm that fertilises that egg, so the sex of any prior children is irrelevant. OP, I got pregnant at 9 months pp after an emergency section so there is 18 months between my boys birthdays, I was not high risk and had no extra monitoring during the second pregnancy, I had another c section through choice but I was offered a vbac

@N 💞 survivors bias I had a friend who had heard many stories like yours and when she got pregnant the second time her section scar ripped open from the inside out she was luckily 34 weeks so they could save the baby but she had to have a hysterectomy. Although it’s rare I think it’s best to keep that in mind. I’ve had 2 sections 1st emergency at 10cm so they told me 24months as my womb as I recovering from full dilation and the c section I had my daughter when my son turned 3 & I believe They tell you that for a reason. And yes the sperm and whatever you said but it’s proven that eggs will also use the remaining cells around them to grow I learned about it in college

I had my first via c section I got pregnant again when he was 9 months so by the time second baby came i was 18 months post c section . I had my second baby vaginally even though i had another c section booked. He came earlier than the booked date and was delivered safely. I do think you should wait a little longer because there is a risk of having a uterine rupture if the pregnancies are too close together but it’s up to you.

@Marie this!!! I wanted a girl aswell hahah and ended up having another boy 😂 i wish i had known this. Im waiting until my youngest is 2 now before trying for a girl 😂

@Marie it’s not survivors bias because at no point did I say ‘you’ll be fine because I did it’. I was simply stating my experience. I’d be interested to see the studies related to your opinion on determining the sex as I’ve never heard it before and cannot find any research to support it when looking online…

@N now you’re just being argumentative sorry I don’t have time for it , have a good day xx

@Zaina there is a link between babies born close in age being the same gender! I wanted two boys and I got a girl my second time which is hilarious to other peoples comments as my hubbys got no girls in his family. She’s the first girl in 3 generations on the dad side 😩

@Marie not being argumentative at all, I’m genuinely intrigued to see the facts behind this opinion.

@Marie this happened with my sister aswell! She had kids close in age and her first 2 are boys born 17 months apart She waited until her youngest was 3 before trying again and now has a girl x

@Zaina me and my friend both had kids 3 years later and we had girls second time round but my sister had got pregnant with her second baby when her first just turned one and she has two boys 😅 but don’t get me wrong there are lots of people who have kids years later and get the same gender!

Wait 18 months then start trying. We are trying again now but waited until our son was 27 months just to give even more time. You may have recovered quickly externally but you have no idea how your innards look or if you are risking damage etc. I would 100% wait at least the recommended time if not longer.
