Sleep regression or teething ?

Hi mummas, First time mum here. I just need some advice/thoughts please. My LG is almost 5 months old. At around 3/3 and a half months she went through an early 4 month sleep regression. Didn't sleep in the day for longer than 10 minutes, wouldn't go down at night until 10/11pm (usual bed time is 7/8pm) and then would wake up a couple of times (usually will only wake for a change and bottle at 4am). This lasted about 3 weeks. She's just had two teeth cut through (at the same time) and all of sudden she is waking up at 1am & 5am, last night she fought sleep so hard, I didn't get her down until almost 11:30pm. She is napping perfectly fine so far, but during the day she randomly screams out in pain & starts hysterically crying, I assume because of her teeth. My question is, are we starting off a new sleep regression or is this because of the teething? Any thoughts/advice very welcome! Tyia

Hmm it sounds like it's possibly more teething, have you tried any nurofen or anything to try help ease the pain? My LG is 8.5months and is cutting her 2nd tooth now she can be fine and then randomly start crying however it seems to happen more when she's tired. I've used nurofen when it seems really sore after she comes out the bath, before her last bottle and it has helped her to be less fussy at bedtime on those occasions x

@Laura I've been using the teething stuff, but was considering Calpol. I'll look at getting some nurofen because it helps with swelling. My LG is the same, worse when tired. Thank you mumma!

Usually when a tooth cuts it wouldn’t disrupt sleep for more than a few days per tooth unless you have many erupting at once. She could just be going through a development phase/ hitting milestones that are impacting sleep, sleep goes up and down constantly. Our little boy is nearly 2 and generally a good sleeper but we still hit random bumps in the road and not always clear what it is. I always just check are day naps still right for the age and are we being consistent with routine where possible - these things usually help things get back on track!
