Aptimal petit 1 and no I’m not x
So a lot of formulas for CMPA (including pepti) are very thin and, therefore, a lot of babies can’t keep them down or they cause reflux! The likelihood is that little one needs a thickener in the milk to help keep it down, e.g. gaviscon or carobel. The reason the sick is ‘clear’ is because of A) how thin the milk is and B) it’ll be in a slightly different stage of digestion! Might be worth giving your GP a ring xx
Thank you so much. She was on gaviscon before the milk to rule out reflux but I do think she might have both. Appreciate the time to reply. I’ll talk to them Monday when I go there for her 16 weeks jabs as I’ve got to tell the doctor that she is drinking the milk and appears to like it for her to do a prescription for a months worth so I’ll bring it up. Xx
I was told CMPA and reflux usually are found together, despite not being linked. My LB ended up on neocate (which is also notoriously watery) and to this day, at almost 18 months old, he STILL brings up reflux. I can always tell the difference because it’s clear and he either pulls a face like it’s burned his throat or he gags just beforehand like it’s a sicky burp 🙈😅. I used Carobel but in half the recommended measure as it did make him constipated…but did eventually work! Xx
My daughter already has laxatives for constipation. I know you can get it on the shelf so I might have to grab some if they won’t prescribe some more gaviscon. Thank you xx
It’s just strange because she’ll bring up milky sick and also this clear sick that stinks
Which milk is she on and are you using a thickener? x
