Potty training readiness

It feels crazy that I'm posting this because my daughter isn't even 17 months old yet! But she just attempted to say the word poop, did the sign for diaper change, then pointed the bathroom when I went to change her. So I sat her on the potty and she pooped within a minute. Sometimes we'll sit her on the potty if she's making her poop face, but I never would have considered actually potty training this young. What other signs of readiness should I be looking for?

babies can start learning to eliminate as young as they learn to communicate and sign! if she can say the word poop or sign it or if she goes when you place her over the potty then she’s capable of doing it again and again. aww congrats! my little one is 16 months and she has been saying poop and makes the peeing sound for at least a few months now. she has peed in the toilet twice but she was like 12 months when she did that and i just didn’t keep up with it unfortunately im so tired and exhausted. so i will start focusing on catching every pee/poop as much as i can since she’s clearly capable and ready for it

Other signs include. Being able to get to the potty by then self, and trying to take off the diaper

My sister potty trained ¾ of her kids by 18 months. If the child is ready, they're ready, and she definitely sounds ready!

I was potty trained during the day at 16 months! My son doesn’t even feel bothered by poop or pee so we will probably use diapers for a while 😭
