PGP advice?

Has anyone experienced server back pain? I went into triage with very bad pains in my back to be given dihydrocodeine. I only take this when the pain is at the worst as I read baby’s can suffer withdrawal symptoms when born. Anyway last night I was in tears with the pain, dihyrocodeine never even helped, honestly wouldn’t have been able to tell I took it. Couldn’t move at all, phoned triage again to ask for advice to be told the pain will only go away after birth and to take 2 paracetamol on top of the dihyrocodeine. I’m 37+2. Would it be worth phoning my midwife tomorrow to see if I could potentially get a sweep booked in? I don’t know how long I’ll be able to last with minimum sleep due to the pain 😮‍💨 I’m so fed up now 😣 Or if anyone has experienced pgp what did you do to help ease it?

They can only do a sweep at that time if a consult advices it! They have to give the midwife the go ahead! The only other thing I can think is they will induce you unless you can get a consult to approve a sweep!

Some trusts can do sweeps from 38w so definitely worth an ask, even if they can’t now - but book you in once your 38w it might make you feel better atleast. Sorry I can’t personally recommend anything else it sounds awful 😣 have you tried baths, sitting on a birthing ball etc?

Private physio, spent months in pain.

It’s actual hell. Really feel for you. My only advice is ice. It seems to help me sooo much more than heat. If you’re still at work - go off. Time to barely move :((

Baths make mine worse … any heat just doesn’t seem to help at all.
