ITCHY

Ladies I gave birth almost two weeks ago and I’m in so much pain down there because I’m so itchy and I’m trying not to scratch because of the stitches. I’m doing everything warm showers witch hazel pads etc. Has this happened to anyone? Going to call the Ob tomorrow but good lord I’m dying

The itching is normal, it means you are healing. It will get better soon.

Ice packs in the underwear/diaper. Trustttttt me. The itching is from the stitches.

You can also freeze the pads w/ witch hazel to make them cool.

Yes! Ice packs on the regular and, Frida mom has these cooling pad liners that really helped me the most. I also used dermaplast. I was switching out the liners and ice packs veryyy frequently throughout the day to keep it cool down there it was brutal. This too shall pass I promise!!

I'm not sure where you are located but go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist for xylocaine gel, I had an episiotomy and a tear on the side and it was excruciating to sit down and then the itch too when it started healing but it was a lifesaver especially when trying to sleep!

@Felicity I’m right there with you episiotomy and tear and I’m in pain because of the itchiness but I’ll ask my Ob about the gel because I definitely need it

@Nora I’m on all of that thank you! I noticed the dermalplast made me itch more but everything else has somewhat helped (:

@Elyssa that’s a good one I’ll freeze it and see if that helps more! Thank you!

@Anasztazia thank you! 🩷

Numbing spray!
