I am a Christian, I follow Jesus and I can honestly say, while I still have anxiety, my faith allows me to keep it manageable. I’d much rather do life with God by my side than without him. Knowing Jesus as your saviour brings a sense of peace to your life that you can’t describe, just knowing you have a best friend who you can talk to anytime is so calming xxx
I’m a convert to Islam. Was brought up with no religion at all, my dad was actually really against religion 🫠. I studied a few religions as I felt there was something more. No religion called out to me like Islam. Just felt it was the complete truth. It definitely helps to ease worry, anxiety, depression and anything else. It brings me peace and happiness. I don’t worry about anything anymore. When I feel myself getting anxious I pray and read Quran and it brings me straight back to contentment. I’ll add that before I converted I suffered quite bad with my mental health and was on & off anti anxiety and antidepressants for years. Haven’t needed anything like that since xx
I've suffered with health anxiety for years, have tried therapy, I'm gymming, I'm running, anything to cope. My parents are not religious, so I've not been brought up with any religion, but I'm coming from a predominantly Christian country. In the last couple of years I've been reading a lot about Buddhism, meditation etc, and it does bring a level of calmness. I've not converted, and don't yet have any intentions, but I do follow The plum village on Instagram and occasionally listen to their free podcast on Spotify. I also meditate using the Plum Village app, or apps like Calm.
I’m a Muslim. Islam has saved my mental health. We have daily prayers which are very therapeutic for me and I always talk to god about how I’m feeling and pray when I feel I’m feeling low. May god bless u and make u feel better ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Read a quran here is an online copy Its the last book from the creater and haven't been changed or altered like all other books Start with everything about motherhood and you will understand that this is the best way to get over these periods and much more ❤️ https://quranenc.com/en/browse/english_saheeh You can listen to it too No one can reward us mothers not your husband not your kids or your family for all our hard work with all of them except if we do it for the one that created us, mother place in islam is right after obeying god because its the hardest thing to do on earth If you need anything please let me know 😘
I converted to Judaism and it helped my mental health so much, and also made me a much better person in every way. I would research philosophy in different religions and find one that speaks to you!
I second @Amelia, I’m also a revert to Islam. I grew up Christian but not really practicing, I researched many religions and Islam was the only one that connected to me. It definitely gives me a purpose to think there is a point to being a good person etc, it keeps me accountable. Also knowing that whatever happens is either a blessing or a lesson to be learned given to me by God is peaceful to know. Prayer definitely is a great time out of my day to have alone time and reflect on what I’m grateful for and what I regret doing and what I would like to be blessed with and to ask for guidance.
Please look into Islam. We have three reverts in the family. Two were brought up Christian and one Hindu and all three of them have said they found answers to questions they had in Islam. It will bring you peace. I have also struggled with really bad anxiety post partum (diagnosed PPA, PPD and PTSD) and tried seeing multiple psychiatrists (3 to be exact) and nothing helped like the Quran and prayer.
Seek mental health support - therapy etc rather than looking to a religion. ❤️
Yes I agree with Ally as well, definitely seek professional support from a therapist and psychiatrist in addition to whatever spirituality speaks to you. Religion is great for self-discovery, finding peace, and learning your connection to whatever’s bigger than us out there, but if your mental health struggles are deeper than that, it won’t be a cure. A professional can help you understand the causes better and offer more practical solutions
I had a lot of postpartum anxiety which was also in relation to health. It’s honestly awful and I’m so sorry you’re going through that! It’s actually so interesting that you ask because my religion is the only thing that makes me feel better and has helped me get past it Feel free to message me sis! 🫶🏻
