We just slept trained our 9.5 month old. Went from 7 wakes on average per night and only feeding to sleep to being able to put him down awake and him falling asleep in less than 5 mins (most of the time). He still protests when he is put down but it only lasts a few mins usually and then he lays down and goes to sleep
Omg really. Well done to you both . I'm so tempted it's breaking me down . @Neha @Christina were they both out of the 8 month sleep regression/teething ?
@Neha @Christina also how did you find it emotionally?
@Christina what sort of method did you use. I need to do something and have read loads but just don’t seem to be able to do it
My LO’s 2 top middle teeth came through during the first week of sleep training! It was hard initially, especially as we have a little protestor, but as time went on the duration of protesting reduced and it became easier
@Neha @Christina thats amazing done! do you mind sharing what method you used. And if you used a sleep coach their details. My LG was averaging 2 max 3 wakes a night for dream feeds but since I got rid of her dummy last week it's constant now plus she just wants to suckle for comfort for ages! Do either of your babies stand up btw I tried sleep coaching a while back but my LG just won't lie down and settle and stands up and wants to move and then get so hard to settle back down
https://www.instagram.com/betternightssleepsupport?igsh=eWJzMnI0Mm05eWp3 We wanted a gentle approach, so started with an in room method (providing comfort through touch and sound) but actually switched pretty quickly to leaving the room and occasionally doing check ins as our presence was upsetting our LO more! Our LO isn’t yet pulling up to stand, but he did learn how to go from lying to sitting while we sleep trained, so that was fun, as he would sit up as soon as we put him down and sit there protesting/crying for a few mins. But he would then lie down and go to sleep. I’m not going to lie, I found it hard listening to him cry at the start but the length of time he was protesting quickly reduced. He defo is going through separation anxiety which is common at his age. On a good day now he will protest for a minute and then lie down and go to sleep. But we do still have days where it’s longer, and it still pulls on my heartstrings.
Yes. We have just done two weeks of gentle sleep training with a sleep coach. She was co sleeping, dummy and boobie for comfort 6-7 wakes a night usually. Would cry the second I got up. Now she is independent in her cot for daytime naps and overnight 7-7. Dummy completely eliminated. She’s 9.5 months.
