Purées/ finger food

I started offering purées to my LO since 6m old and I'm still doing the same as I was stressed to give him pieces earlier. Now that he's 10m old, I thought it was a good time to start offering him pieces but he just doesn't want to touch anything I offer to him! He literally puts everything that is not edible in his mouth apart from finger food! Anyone has experienced the same and how did your LO started eating pieces of food?

What tastes does he like? Have you tried feeding him from your finger and then moving what he wants off your finger onto something else. My girls first try of anything that wasn’t a purree was some smashed avocado on my finger off my toast and she realised she loved it. Then slowly could introduce what flavour they do like maybe on some toast to suck the flavour off. Tired brain on my right now but I’m sure some others will come up with good ideas

I found that my baby has been throwing most of his solid food on the floor in the evening, he has been eating solids since 6m and loves it. He's going through a weird fase. My advice is to give solid food when LO is really hungry, morning/ early afternoon. And fruit is a good start, my son never turns down an apple! Good luck x

My baby can eat a pear whole. I take off some of the skin and half it. He does this with apples and oranges too but his teeth isn’t strong enough for those yet so he just sucks and bites. But the pear… he devoured.
