Labor/birth

I’m scared about labor. I have the worst anxiety especially when going into unknown territory. I know everything will be ok, I’ll be surrounded by doctors/nurses and the pain won’t last forever but I don’t want to have a panic attack mid labor especially because my heart races like crazy. Anyone else nervous or went into it feeling nervous?

Hey Mkenzie! I know you’re nervous, and that’s completely okay. Here are a few things that helped me: 1. Breathe through contractions: Deep breaths helped me stay calm during each wave. 2. Keep an open mind: Things might not go exactly as planned, and that’s totally fine. 3. Focus on one contraction at a time: Just take it moment by moment, and remember your body knows what to do. You’ve got this trust yourself and your team, and if you ever need to talk, I’m here!

@Samantha thank you so much! I need all the positive insight

How far along are you?

I have a tip that honestly made it really smooth delivery I started drinking raspberry leaf tea and cranberry pineapple juice at 35 weeks 3 times a day and when it came down to push she was out in less than 20 minutes doctors didn’t even have time to prepare how fast she came it prepares your uterus.

Read some birthing books to help you ♥️ Know that whatever happens is meant to be. Set boundaries for what you want, accept what you may not be able to change. Labor is different for everyone but trusting yourself and knowing you can do it is what will guide you through ♥️

@Heidi thank you thank you

@Samantha I’m only 12 weeks haha. I also saw that dates are good to?

Hey @Mykenzie of course everyone's experience is so unique but what I can say is a c section in particular is about 10% the severity I envisioned it to be. I was terrified of the big needle and yet it felt like a prick. I feel like with the pain management available, it makes it a lot less intense than I ever imagined! And yes I was hella nervous and terrified prior too. We work ourselves up mentally but it's only that horrid in our minds...99% of the time! Try some calming or mindful breathing techniques..it really helped calm my racing thoughts :)

I have heard so many scary pregnancy experiences but I had the best and easiest birth. Someone on TikTok told me during birth to just allow your body to relax completely during contractions. In whatever position works. I woke up at 9am and my water broke and immediately had contractions 5 minutes apart when I got to the hospital at 10am I was already 7 centimeters dilated. Then got an epidural and was feeling awesome and gave birth a bit later that day. It is only short pains and they fade fast. Remember that most people only post about bad experiences not good ones. You’ve got this and no matter what happens all it’ll be okay. Just remember to relax

Run away of people telling you their bad birth stories and don’t keep researching about it everyday. Your body knows what it’s doing and you have a team that knows how to deal with every situation. I had people telling me the worst stories and I was getting sick thinking about it. I stopped reading anything about it and decided t trust my team. I had an amazing and peaceful delivery 💓
