By the age of one the expectation is 3 meals and snacks anyway (health visitor asks at the one year check) so don't worry about it.
Baby is 7m old and we don't do snacks only bf and lunch atm and increasing to 3 meals a day slowly. However if I'm out and about and if she's hungrier I might add a snack in. I wouldn't give a snack to replace a bottle though as they still get their main nutrients from milk.
My baby is 9 months, he cut down his afternoon bottle 2 weeks ago. Now only has morning & evening, every few days he wakes up for a bottle in the night too. We cut it down as he'd drink no more than 30-50 ml. So we replaced it with a snack. He has 3 meals a day & a snack and he's doing amazingly ❤️
We introduced an afternoon snack around 9 months, only because the girl was getting crabby in the wait between afternoon bottle and dinner. We cut the afternoon bottle around her birthday and now she does fine with just a snack. Honestly I would say just judge by how your baby handles it. If they seem fine with the food, go with it - they'll be fully on food before long anyway and it's not like anything changes substantially on the exact day they turn 12 months. It doesn't hurt them to get used to light snacks.
Look at this post about going back to work and BF, don't worry about replacing feeds now. Babies usually adapt better than we think. https://www.instagram.com/p/DB9Tflot95w/?igsh=NnNoNDBleG9qZzg4 I've been giving snacks to my LO since about 7mnths and he's now 11.5mnths. Don't stress it mama!! You're doing a fabulous job ❤️ I'm sure I've seen something that says at 10-12mnths they should be having 3 meals a day, healthy snacks and 3 milk feeds a day (granted that'll be formula fed but still!). I bf on demand so if he's whingy I'll give him a snack and if he's still going then I'll offer the boob. It works for us 🤷🏼♀️ you do you xxx
My baby (10 months) has snacks when I’m working but will BF if I’m around. I wouldn’t worry too much about cutting down feeds before going back, I’m sure he’ll adapt! But also you’re absolutely not a awful mother if you replace it with a snack 😊
