@Aqsa my call log says it was only 16 minutes. We spoke for any extra couple of minutes at the end as she asked if I had any questions and I had one to ask. That was my only question to her, the rest was me telling her about tests that had been asking about. It felt like we were rushing through as soon as the call started!
Hmm thats strange. Are you going to be seeing her again ans when will you be seeing her? Also i would mention this to your midwife that your first consultation appointment was rushed and you didnt really get the answers you wanted. Hopefully she will be able to guide you in the right direction
I appreciate you felt it was rushed, but if you got all the information you needed and all the answers to the questions you had asked then I wouldn't be too fussed. X
My first consultant appointment was in person not over the phone so slightly different but I had a really disappointing experience. Turns out it wasn’t even my consultant I saw and was a registrar who completely dismissed my health risks and didn’t put the plan in place that every other medical professional told me needs to be done. I phoned my midwife the following day and explained how I felt more anxious after the appointment and how I felt dismissed etc - they investigated it and now I get seen by the head of the preterm clinic at my hospital and they told me I was told the wrong information by the registrar I originally saw. Not saying this will be the case, but if you are upset about how it went, speak with your midwife and just explain how you feel, they may say that’s all that was needed in that call but they should be able to offer some guidance and support x
@Aqsa I've got 2 appointments with her in March and I'm a bit anxious about them. My midwife is amazing so I'll bring it up when I next see her
@Rachel absolutely. There's definitely more that I probably should have told her for her to have a better view of how things have been and advice so far from GP and midwife but I felt too uncomfortable to say anything extra. I've got some advice and 1 more test from the phone call so at least that's more than nothing
@Amy I am a bit confused because my midwife said she had been talking with my consultant about my tests and she referred to him as male but the phone call was from a lady with a different name. Having checked my letter though she is named and is named on my follow-up appointments. I will question this with my midwife as maybe some wires have been crossed at some point about who my consultant is!
Depends how long she was On the phone for, my first consultant appointment was over the phone and was around 20-25 mins, she was speaking so fast as well and givinf me all this information. I am going to be seeing her in person one last time before i could potentially give birth. Any other questions i had i did ask my midwife x
