Cooking meals

Feel really silly asking this but what do you all do with your babies when trying to make meals? Finding it so hard as baby is very active and mobile so isn’t content being in a play pen or in a swing chair.

I honestly let them cry for a few minutes if they’re that clingy atm or I’m content when they just play or eat by themselves so they don’t feel left out. I gotta eat so it is what it is🤷‍♀️

Baby wear? Use a carrier or sling

High chair in kitchen with some toys and sometimes a small snack such as cucumber works for us xx

Thanks all. She is just 9 months now.

Id do baby carrier on your back

My LO is the same. I try to cook whilst he is asleep and keep the cooking time as short as possible. I’ll prep some bits the night before and make big meals so i’m not cooking everyday

I’ll probably get hate for saying this but I put her in highchair and let her watch Ms Rachel or Simple Songs both which she loves. It keeps her entertained for me to cook our dinners and then I turn it off when its ready for us to all eat together at the table

I put her in her highchair. I usually give her a little snack as she'll happily sit there munching that for a while.

High chair or bugaboo with a ball. Or I prep when she’s asleep/once my partner finishes work. We always have the radio on and I sing or dance around at the same time which keeps her entertained too

I do high chair and I have a drawer which is about the same height and I have safe kitchen implements in there like wooden spoons and colanders and she just bashes them about. Failing that she has a walker but if she tires of that she rolls up to me and cries hanging onto my trousers. Or I give her a snack and sit her where she can watch me safely.

Put them in the high chair in kitchen and sing whilst you cook 🤣

Thanks everyone 🙏💕 will need to make room in our small kitchen for a high chair! 🤣
