Breeched baby

I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant baby is breeched. Been given 4 weeks for baby to move. Otherwise I’d have to be booked in for ECV or a c section. Anyone had an ECV that can give me advice please on their ECV experience.

Have a look into spinning babies. Also if you’re financially able to moxhibustion is thought to help turn babies

I was breech then. I did literally everything and something worked or she just did it on her own. I did spinning babies exercises, hot and cold ice packs, Webster technique Chiropractor, acupuncture with moxibustion, and the Hyonobabies turn your breech baby sound track from their website. I slept on my side only with a peanut ball up between my knees and thighs. She flipped within a week.

Oh and curb walking.

I just had one last week that unfortunately didn’t work. I’ve heard some people don’t find it too bad but I honestly thought it was really painful. You get monitored before and after and they give you an injection to relax your muscles before starting but my whole body was shaking with the pressure of them trying to lift my baby out of my pelvis. I told myself the 5 minutes of pain would be worth it if I could potentially avoid having the section. I think babies that are very far down might hurt more to move but if your baby is going to move easily I don’t think it would have hurt half as badly. Mine was just far too low down and wasn’t for budging although you’ll know within 2-5 minutes they told me they weren’t going to spend any longer doing it and potentially causing me and the baby undue stress. If you’re really wanting to avoid a section I would say it’s worth giving a go as it’s over quickly. Just make sure to talk through any of the potential risks or complications with them xx

I found the ECV quite traumatising to be completely honest. I don’t regret it as such as I think had I not tried it I would have always wondered “what if?” But now knowing what it’s like I don’t think I’d choose one again

I had a successful ECV at 38wks. I tried everything from spinning babies, moxibustion, ice on top of bump, you name it and baby didn’t move. I was so nervous about the ECV and it was a bit uncomfortable but I don’t regret it at all as those 2 minutes of pain saved me from the recovery of a section. Just worth nothing that I was told that I was ‘ideal type for a successful ECV’ as I was slim and all bump so they could get their hands on babies head and bum easily. ECV’s are only successful half the time (if even) but it’s worth trying in my opinion. They know pretty quickly if baby will move and only try a few times (max 3-5mins)

I had an ECV at 37 weeks and wouldn’t recommend it if you have a low pain threshold! It was so painful and I was left bruised afterwards and it didn’t even work, I was booked in for a planned c section at 39 weeks xx

My baby girl was breeched for a really long time. My husband built me an inversion table so I could lay slanted/with my head near the floor (Check out “Spinning Babies” about these ideas!) it was a lot of work for me at 33 weeks and up but between doing that everyday and doing some yoga stretches (Cat/cow and downward dog) by the end at 39 weeks she had flipped! I never booked an ECV even though my doctor encouraged it. I just didn’t want to not try myself first.

@Ceri-Ann you can buy a stick for $4 and do it yourself I’ve been doing it for weeks and baby hasn’t moved but I also started late at 38..you still have time it’s 60% effective when paired with acupuncture before 38 weeks
